Summary of the Lecture:

The charm of theology lies in its inherent generativity, contextuality, and experientiality. Generativity means that theology is not a fixed and unchanging body of doctrines or a once-for-all completed system; rather, it is a dynamic process that continually emerges, develops, and unfolds throughout history. Contextuality indicates that theological reflection and expression are always deeply rooted in the particular cultural, social, political, economic, and linguistic settings in which they arise, responding to the real questions of concrete situations. Experientiality emphasizes theology’s close connection with the lived experiences, emotional perceptions, and existential concerns of believers in everyday life. Theology is not a cold exercise in logical deduction or a mere game of concepts; it is existential, transformative, embodied, concrete, and ordinary. In other words, theology concerns not only “being,” but also “becoming.”
