Day 1 Travel to Beijing
Board your transpacific flight to Beijing.

                                                    Day 2-4 Beijing

Upon arrival in Beijing, China's capital, you will be greeted by ERRC field partners teaching at China’s most prestigious educational institutions.  There will also be opportunity to meet with Chinese Christian scholars.   Also available: sight-seeing trips for the Great Wall, Summer Palace, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, etc. and worship at English speaking service at Haidan Chinese church.

Day 5-6 Tianjin

The name Tianjin means “the place where the Emperor crossed the river.” Historically, it has been the site of many crossings. You will visit the place of China’s previous foreign concession, as well as the old culture street. Find out about the 6 ERRC field partners’ life, including a young child.   7

Day 7 Jinan

Jinan is known as “City of Springs”. Living at the campus guesthouse gives opportunity to observe a foreign faculty member’s life.  Jinan bears much missionary history, and we will visit an old Christian University campus and a Catholic cathedral. If possible, we will visit the Religious Studies Department.

Day 8-9 Taian
Four hours D-train (Express train) ride to Taian will be an enjoyable experience. Tai’an is located at the foot of
Mount Tai, first of the five sacred mountains in China. A place that Chinese emperors came to visit and worship God. A thriving community of ERRC teachers would welcome your interactions.  For those who like to hike, there will be time to climb Mount Tai. On Sunday, we will worship together with the teachers fellowship.

Day 11-12  Shanghai
One of China’s most massive and vibrate cities. We will visit Fudan University and the Chinese pavilion at the World Expo site. Your time in Shanghai may offer an opportunity to pursue more Chinese modern history or pick up souvenirs in this shopping-rich city.
